Three hundred years of corporate history

Tong Ren Tang was created in 1669 (Qing Dynasty) by Lok Hin Yeung and in 1723 he officially worked for the Qing emperor Yongzheng.
In 1954 TongRenTang introduced the first public-private partnerships.
In 1991 TongRenTang Pharmaceutical Factory was promoted to the national level enterprises.
Beijing Tongrentang Co., Ltd was set up in 1997. In July of the same year, Tongrentang shares were listed in the SSE.
China TongRenTang (Group) Co., Ltd. is formally inaugurated in 2001.
To quicken the internationalization, Beijing Tongrentang TCM Co., Ltd. was set up in Hong Kong (in 2004).

Public recognition

TRT Pharmacy in Chengdu

1997 : The State Council identified 120 large enterprise groups as a modern enterprise system. TongRenTang was the only Chinese medicine company in this list.
1989:  Tong Ren Tang brand recognised by the State Administration for Industry and Commerce as a “Famous Brand Name” ; TRT is the state’s first trademark to be registered in the Madrid Agreement.
“2004 Annual China’s Top Ten Most Influential Brands”
“2005 CCTV My Favourite Chinese Brand”, “Renowned Chinese Export Brand Enterprises” .
2006:  “Tong Ren Tang’s culture of TCM” approved to be listed in the “List of the First Selection of Intangible Cultural Heritage”.
2007: TRT Museum set up in Beijing.
