Mo Shan 磨山

Mo Shan

Mount Mo is near the East Lake. The ticket to visit the mountain is 40 RMB. This place is called the sea of flowers because thousand kinds of flowers bloom there. Mount Mo covers 88 square km, including 33 square km of water. From the downtown, you can take buses No.413, 401 or 515 to get there. It takes about three hours to visit.

Mu Lan Shan 木兰山

Mount Mu Lan is located in the North of Wuhan. It covers 78 square km. The ticket to visit the mountain is 55RMB. The height is about 600m. Besides the flowers and trees landscape, there are palaces inside of which you can see some statues. There is an old story behind the name of this mountain that you can find on: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hua_Mulan . This mountain is 50 km away from the city center, so to go there take a bus at the long-distance bus station near Wuhan Harbour (No. 9, 207, 603 or 601). It takes half one day to visit.

Jiu Feng Shan 九峰山

Mount Jiu Feng is located in the Wuchang district of Wuhan. It’s 12 km away from city center. It has wild animals and different kinds of birds and plants. Jiu Feng Shan is also famous because people usually go there to have a BBQ party. You can take buses No.518 or 18 to go there. It takes about two or three hours to have a view.

Luo Jia Shan 珞珈山

Mount Luo Jia is right at the Wuhan University. The entrance is free all the time except during the cherry blossom season. It will cost 10RMB at this time. It’s besides the East Lake so you can have a nice view of the lake from this mountain. You can take buses No.724 or 605 to get there. It takes about two hours to visit.

Hong Shan 洪山

Mount Hong is located in the Wuchang district. It covers 509 square km.. There is a temple and a tower inside. The tower is about 40m high and was built during the Tang Dinasty. You can take buses No.590 or 811 to go there. It takes about one hour and a half to have a view.
