General Joseph W. Stilwell Museum Chongqing

General Joseph W.Stilwell was sent to Chongqing, which was the wartime capital of China,  during during World War II to help co-ordinate the resistance against the Japanese invasion of China.
The museum is one of the only museums or historical sights in China which actually honors American involvement in the victory over Japan.
The museum is beautifully located on the hills of Chongqing city, and is located in the actual former residence of Joseph Stilwell and the allied headquarters in China.
The house was reconstructed and used be the government after 1949. It was turned into Gen. Stiwell museum in 1991 by the Chongqing People’s Municipal government.
On display in the museum is an extensive display of mostly US-supplied photos, documents, articles and video.
