The 500 most powerful corporations in the world, including the French Keolis Group will establish their headquarters or production base in Wuhan triggering a new surge of investment in the rising city of central China.
The car company “Shenglong” ltd, is the largest investment project in Sino-French auto industry in Wuhan. Today, more than 80 French companies are also located in Wuhan. One third of French investment in China is concentrated in this city, as production system, acquisition hub, and logistics centers. Nearly 1,000 French people work and live in this Chinese city. The construction of the new plant “Shenglong” 3 will begin in May which will further strengthen the position of Wuhan as the capital of China automobile.
Besides the automotive industry, Wuhan and France still cooperate in the fields of transport, sustainable development, energy conservation, and environmental protection.
In addition, Keolis Group, the first French private operator of public transport, has signed a memorandum agreement with the Wuhan Transport Development Group. This agreement will complete the “Tianhe” Wuhan airport facilities and build a project of correspondence related to the underground city. Keolis Group has also established its Asian headquarters, a center of acquisition and a training center in Wuhan. The group will help the municipal government of Wuhan to become an example for China in terms of construction transportation.
The French company Eurocopter also plans to open an office in Wuhan to develop its business in China. However, the company will wait until China opens its low attitude airspace. The Saint-Gobain also plans to set up a factory production of building materials in Wuhan. Moreover, the French Development Agency (AFD) has already invested 20 million euros in Wuhan for the reconstruction of public buildings. This is also the first project for Energy launched by China, using foreign government loans.
An international line between Wuhan and Paris will be open before the end of this year, to facilitate exchanges and cooperation between France and China in economics, education and culture,
