Frank Fahrenkopf the president of the American Gaming Association, recently stated at the Asian Expo in Macau that Singapore will surpass Las Vegas in 2011 gambling revenue. If his estimates are correct Singapore will become the largest gaming venue in the world.
In 2010 Singapore generated $5.1 billion in gambling revenue. He said that he expects this number to grow to $6.4 billion this year while Las Vegas is estimated to total $6.2 billion in 2011.
“It’s going to be an extremely good year in Singapore and Macau,” he said, adding that casino revenue in Macau will probably grow between 25 percent and 50 percent in 2011.
