Chengdu International Airport is to increase the amount of traffic between the US, Europe, Australia and Asia. After having seen a growing demand for business and tourist travelers to the capital of Sichuan province, Chengdu, it has been decided that Chengdu is to increase its routes to 40 international direct scheduled destinations by 2015.
The US, Europe, Australia and the Middle East are the key areas that will develop direct flights in a couple of years. About one international direct scheduled air route will be opened each year from 2012 to 2015.
There are currently 24 international direct passenger and cargo routes in Chengdu. The most recent regular international direct passenger flights were opened in 2011 and consist of the following routes, Chengdu
