Nanjing Lukou International Airport’s new terminal (T2) officially opened on July 12th, substituting terminal 1. The Terminal 2, covering an area of 263,000 square meters, has 4 check-in islands (A, B, C and D) and 112 check-in counters (40 for international flights and 72 for domestic flights). Construction of the new terminal began on April 4, 2011 with a total investment of 9.9 billion yuan, including a 3,600-meter-long, 45-meter-wide runway, and a 4-floor terminal building. T2-2 Floors one and two are dedicated to arrivals, while departures is situated on level three. Restaurants, shops and entertainment options will be located on the fourth floor, occupying a space of 10,000 sqm. Food and beverage brands include McDonald’s, Burger King, Starbucks and Costa. T2-3 The new terminal is designed to handle 30 million passengers, 800,000 tons of cargo and 260,000 aircraft movements annually, which can accommodate large wide-body aircraft including Airbus A380 superjumbo and Boeing 747-8 aircraft. The new terminal is directly connected with subway line 10 and airport express. In addition, a huge parking lot offering 2,200 parking places will be available.T2-4
